Connecting Your Email to Outlook or Thunderbird
You can connect your PagePod email account to desktop email apps like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. This allows you to send and receive emails directly from your computer.
You will need the following server settings when adding your account.
Email Server Settings
Incoming Mail (IMAP)
- Server: mail.pagepod.co.za
- Port: 143
- Security: STARTTLS
Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
- Server: mail.pagepod.co.za
- Port: 587
- Security: STARTTLS
Username: Your full email address (for example: info@yourdomain.co.za)
Password: Your email account password
How to Connect in Microsoft Outlook
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Click File → Add Account.
- Enter your email address and click Advanced Options.
- Select Let me set up my account manually.
- Choose IMAP as the account type.
Enter the following settings:
Incoming Mail (IMAP)
- Server: mail.pagepod.co.za
- Port: 143
- Encryption method: STARTTLS
Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
- Server: mail.pagepod.co.za
- Port: 587
- Encryption method: STARTTLS
- Enter your full email address as the username.
- Enter your email password.
- Click Connect.
Your email account should now be connected.
How to Connect in Mozilla Thunderbird
- Open Thunderbird.
- Click Email under "Set up an existing email address".
- Enter:
- Your Name
- Your Email Address
- Your Password
- Click Manual Config.
Enter the following settings:
Incoming Mail
- Protocol: IMAP
- Server: mail.pagepod.co.za
- Port: 143
- Security: STARTTLS
- Authentication: Normal Password
- Username: Your full email address
Outgoing Mail
- Server: mail.pagepod.co.za
- Port: 587
- Security: STARTTLS
- Authentication: Normal Password
- Username: Your full email address
- Click Done.
Your email account should now be ready to use.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your email doesn’t connect:
- Make sure you are using your full email address as the username.
- Double-check your password.
- Confirm the server names and ports are entered exactly as shown.
- Ensure STARTTLS is selected for both incoming and outgoing servers.
